Power Dressing, Know-how and All

Disclaimer: I am not a fashion expert.  And I know that have yet to discover my style. But, there are things that I know, outfit that works for me and those that do not, and this blog is my way of sharing what I know. The things that I say in this blog are based on my personal perspective alone. Should you feel that I’m talking nonsense, or that I don’t have any idea what I’m talking about, you have the discretion to leave my page and never come back. Or probably you may comeback, but when you already feel that you can bear with my points of view.

Dressing up for me is more than just showcasing beautiful, stylish clothes. I consider it therapeutic - a stress-reliever, if I may say so. There are days when I’d feel blah, lazy to go to work, not in the mood for anything. But with the help of a good blouse, an ensemble that I think is awesome, comfy shoes, and the like, my mood starts to pick-up, in  a way.

Whenever not so good things happen at work, say my work got murdered or something, I often think of happy thoughts. These include the outfit that I’m wearing at that particular moment. And when things go wrong, and I mean wrong, I just keep with up with ‘the hell I care I’m wearing nice clothes’ kind of attitude.

I know these things may sound weird. But seriously that’s the effect of fashion on me.

Okay, I’ll stop blah-bing, on to the outfit. On this day, I just felt like recreating the ‘tie look’, which I already tried out last last month. However, instead of going for subtle, monochromatic colors, I decided to up it a bit with some colors.

Truth is, I was one of those who think that mixing up primary colors in your outfit, particularly in terms of the prominent items, is tantamount to wearing the Philippine flag. But, thanks to the awesome bloggers out there, I was able to let go of this wrong assumption. In fact, I now think that wearing primary colors together is fun.

But of course, the key to achieve a not costumey, natural look is balance. That’s why without thinking twice, I decided to grab my jeans and flats. I wasn’t going for ultra-formal look anyway. I just want some it to be crisp, clean and comfy.
